Diapers, leaks and anger

Published by tmk0831 at 7:05 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Wow, where has the time gone? I can’t believe it’s been almost a month since my last post. I really wanted to try to keep this going every day, but it seems that life has gotten in the way.

In the last week or so, we have learned a hard lesson about the quality of diapers. For the last year or so, Logan has been in Luvs. They were a couple dollars less than the expensive ones and better quality than the store brand diapers, and were usually better about containing leaks than the store brand.   Well, I picked up a pack of diapers last week, and when I opened them I noticed that they were different than they usually are.  After the first two diapers, I began to realize that they were VERY different. They leak….TERRIBLY. I hoped it was just some freak thing with that pack. When I bought the second pack, they were no different. For the first time in over a year, we have been battling constant diaper leaks.  I gave in and bought a pack of Huggies the other day. They are GREAT!!!  And, Logan loves them. They have Tigger and Pooh on them, and he adores them. He actually pulls his pants off to check his diaper and make sure that they are still there! We have had no leaks ever since!

We are still battling the temper, though. He’s gotten better about listening to us when we say ‘No’, but he gets SO angry when we move him away from somewhere he’s not supposed to be. We’ve taken a more gentle approach with him in just talking to him and explaining why we are telling him no. I know he doesn’t understand it all, but he understands some. And it’s helping considerably. But, the temper is our next hurdle. He bites, pinches and kicks. I have tried just about everything I can think of to no avail. I’m not sure what more to do, but I am just trying to be persistent. Hopefully this too shall pass. We can just take it one day at a time and make little steps toward where we need to be.
